    When you're about to play

Does anything noticeably different happen to you when you're about to sit down for a good gorefest? Or a Starcraft matchup?

For me, lately, I've been noticing chills before beginning a League of Legends match. Like the blood leaves my hands and feet and I start to shiver. Circulation changes or something. After the match is over, I realize my hands are freezing, and it takes some downtime for them to warm back up.

    That happen to anyone else?
    ...and that's why.

Nope. I'm a casual, so stuff like that doesn't happen to me.

Once, though, I was on the PC upstairs years ago IMing for an extended period, and the wind blew the front door open during winter, and I didn't even notice until about an hour or so later.

Usually only for something with multiplayer...

Demon's Souls I'd get an occasional chill or adrenaline dump when I was online and susceptible to an invasion. Or when I was helping someone else out and the invasion message would flash.

Once in a while I'd get it when I started up Split/Second. Kind of an "okay, here we go... " moment akin to stage fright or heightened anticipation.
So you're a fish out of water...
        Keep swimming.
        What else can you do?

Nope. Kinda seems similar to the sensations I remember having before a track meet or cross-country race. But I don't recall having them in connection to a video game.

Having "The Nanny" on in the background makes me better at Starcraft.

My blood boils when I invade someone's world in Demon's Souls.

              Every time.

Yeah, I guess Demon's Souls sorta had that effect on me, now that I think about it. I'll agree with Shard and Toaster...being the invader or invadee definitely makes you feel...something.

Mostly, though, when I would get summoned as the Old Monk...the anticipation in waiting for your opponent to get to the top of the staircase, and then staring at each other for a second as soon as he enters, trying to quickly size up your tactics on the fly, not knowing if I should bow, or if that would leave myself open for an attack...all the little intangible things that go into that...so yeah. Demon's Souls most definitely.

When I snipe in TF2, because I suck at it, when I get on a roll I get twitchy with the rush of "OMG, I actually killed more than zero people and I'm still alive."

Aside from that, PvP in Aion was a pretty good rush, especially when some damn Assassin pops out of nowhere and you're forced into the "flight or fight" mentality. This, also, made me worse at the game since it slowed my reaction time, made me hit wrong buttons, forget to use potions, etc.

This describes PvP (and even strong regular enemies, to an extent) in Demon's Souls to a T.

If I'm on my way to the arcade to play DDR, I get anxious and nervous. Understandable since you're basically throwing yourself on a stage that any passerby can see. Once you start playing though, and start playing well, you wish there was someone watching you.

I rarely get hyped up, but sometimes my breathing will speed up during a Mario Kart race or I'll get into a "zone" where I feel like I know exactly what to do in Smash Bros., Starcraft or Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The thrill usually comes after success.

I find I get there when I'm just relaxed. Tensing up over a jump in New Super Mario Wii or a dodge in Monster Hunter usually means bad news.

                        Oh, and The Nanny~

Just so long as none of you cry when you lose. I knew someone like that.

If I'm playing a shooter or anything PvP for the first time,
I get very nervous, but my senses heighten slightly.

As I play a said game more often, the feeling goes away
and I feel like a cold blooded lizard.
