I've been into Kinder Eggs since my German friends brought me some when I was still in high school. Fushigi sent me a whole bunch a while back, too. They made it through customs just fine.

You know what's funny? Nestle introduced a similar product, and it was changed shortly thereafter to only include candy, and not a toy. I got one when they first debuted. I'm pretty sure I still have the potentially deadly Disney toy trinket that they included with it.

that is major bull****. what a ****ing waste of money. all this crap over a piece of **** 2 dollar egg, with a chinese toy in it. they should of said the toy contains chemicals in the plastic that cause cancer, that id be more likely to believe.

Ah, this is a pop-culture item I never knew about. I also never knew it was illegal to sell non-food stuffs inside of food stuffs in the U.S.A. Two new things I learned today! But I already knew that the American government was anal about everything except what really matters; this just further cements that fact in my mind.

Considering how stupid our children (and adults) are in this country, I'd expect people to shove the whole damn Kinder egg down their throats in one gulp. Perfectly understandable.

I think I've heard about these. There's a number of non-American food and food-like stuff that doesn't sell here, so it's not a big deal. It's probably to prevent the headache of lawsuits from parents who might toss one to their kids whom they promptly ignore then gets all enraged at the candy makers when Timmy chokes his fat face on the toy.

Besides, it's not like this country needs more junk food.
