    Ramen Recipes

    http://www.mattfischer.com/ramen/

I googled this site, but the ones I'm looking at seem iffy. I was wondering if any of you have tried any of these or have your own recipe that's quick, cheap, and tastes good.

I have a lot of ramen to eat.

I always throw leftover meat into the pot at the same time I throw in the noodles, if I have any around. Other than that you can throw anything you want into the broth to cook it first, then add the noodles in last.

I wouldnt eat ramen with butter and cheese on it like in one of those recipes on that site. Thats a job for real pasta.

My sister has this nasty ass stuff she makes. She cooks the noodles without using the broth packet, then mixes the noodles with a can of tomato soup. Then she eats it.

one of my friends would sometimes throw away the seasoning packet and use hot cocoa powder. I never tried it.

Yeah, those dessert ideas actually look good.

Well, I cooked up the Quick Egg Ramen recipe on there, mostly because I saw my brother doing it before and figured it shouldn't taste TOO bad.

So far it tastes fine. I think it needs a slice of American cheese.

Question though: How do you know when the ramen noodles are cooked? When they're too cooked?

I think they're supposed to be boiled for, like, 8 minutes.

It's a timing thing, really. It's easier to tell with spaghetti, though; Just toss a noodle at the wall and if it sticks, it's ready.

What I always do is once the broth is boiling, throw the noodles in and take the pot off of the heat. Then just keep mixing them around until they arent still stuck together, and they're done.

You can always pull one noodle out and eat it to see if its still hard or not. Ramen noodles are really easy to overcook, so its better to pull them off the heat and let them sit for a few extra minuts, than to be left with a bowl of mush.

Nothing is worse than soggy Ramen noodles.

I used to like spicing them myself. Nothing like thyme, bay leaves, oregano, basil, and some sort of meat thrown in. Remove the bayleaves after fixing(they're not digestible), and voila.

                    Re: Ramen Recipes

I myself am a Ramen addict. I cook it sooo many different ways.
HASTE-RAMEN:Traditionally it takes me about 5 minutes! I fill a small pot with some water add the ramen in even before I turn the heat on! By the time the water gets to boiling on high my ramen is already broken up and good enough to eat. Drain and add flavoring and mix up strawberry milk and that's my fav.

CHICKEN RAMEN SOUP: Basically I take atleast 2 packs of ramen begin cooking in water then add the flavoring packs straight into the ramen, you may add an extra chicken flavor cube if ya want, i do sometimes. Then chop in veges and meat ( i do carrots and celery and green onions etc...). Let cook for however long ya want and *wahla!.

RAMEN STIR-FRY: Cook your meat first in oil over high heat. Then throw in your veges and stir-fry that all while your noodles begin cooking to the side. Then when that is finished add oriental flavoring and noodles to the stir-fry and call it good.

(those are the three main ways I usually make Ramen but I have quite a few others on rare occasions)
Everything is a Riemann sum of a lot of nothing.

Some people aren't wealthy enough to buy real food. I agree that Ramen noodles are kind of gross though...

At least enough spices to make it so you cannot taste them fixes things, some...

Yeah they're cheap. Thats the main reason why lots of people eat them. Can buy them for around 30-80 cents a pack at most stores.

Another cheap food I like to stock up on is pancake mix. Buy a bigass bag of it and itll last you for a month even if you use some every morning. Just add water, and pour it into a pan. Only other thing you need is some syrup.
