Why is swearing disallowed? Is there a particular reason, like restrictions regarding whoever you pay to keep the website going, or just general Puritanism? Is it the overall consensus of the staff, or is the majority held at bay by the whim of a madman?

Re: I'm curious...
Swearing is offensive and I can't believe that people get away with it as much as they do in this day and age.
There's your reason.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Re: I'm curious...
Agetec? I thought this was your forum, Valky, an unofficial fan site rather than some official extension of the RPG Maker brand. I remember this being brought up before when someone was talking about money or something, but I forget what was specifically said and don't have faith in the search function to turn it up. What's Agetec's relationship to here again?"Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity."

Re: I'm curious...
The money thing was someone thinking Agetec paid for this place. They do not.
This site belongs to Kire, first off.
Agetec supports us with information, pre-release info, and sends traffic our way via rpgmaker.agetec.com.
We were to be directly linked in RPGM2's manual, but that fell through due to us not having a swear filter at the time. Agetec also had to publicly distance themselves from the pavilion because the atmosphere at the site was too agressive, and not new-member-friendly. That made agetec decide when RPGM3's release came around, to link to a site of theirs that would link to us, so if content ever gets out of hand here, they can quickly disconnect from us via that site.
Basically, having a swear filter and content rules allows agetec to be associated with us, and provide us with cool stuff.
That is not the only reason. Like I said, it makes the site too hostile. I don't like it like that. I'd have a swear filter active even if agetec didn't care.

Do they? I mean, anymore. I guess they did at one point.Originally posted by Valkysas View PostThe money thing was someone thinking Agetec paid for this place. They do not.

Re: I'm curious...
That question was answered, yeah. Not desirably, but enough to make it clear the answer is fairly final. This is more me asking general questions about the site at this point, since I wasn't around when this stuff went down. So feel free to lock it or whatever.
Speaking of answers, that's kind of a vague one. Let me put it another way: other than maintaining their link to here, what was the last thing Agetec did to acknowledge the Pav's continued existence?"Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity."

localized RPG MAKER DSOriginally posted by Valkysas View PostWe talked about stuff involving stuff, which was this year.
I'd say more, but pretty much everything I talk to anyone at agetec about is private unless they tell me otherwise, no matter how pointless what we were talking about is.
