Well, I'm starting a band. With xCifer666x and my other friends, of course. However, we can't decide on a band name... so... here are the choices.
New Age Alchemy: we thought of this title to have some symbolism about how we can change the ever growing ****hole of music into something more golden...
White Javelins: It's based off of our real life names.
Eigengrau Lightshow: It's based off of our philosophy that there is no darkness without the light... or vice versa.
Entropy: Our soon to be guitarist though it sounded cool.
Aether: Read above.
The Delegates: xCifer666x, our guitarist, and I are in the same club: Model United Nations. It only makes sense.
Segways: I thought it would be a strange name for a strange sound of mellow alternative with intense synthesizer music.

I vote for the White Javelins, and the J ought to be huge and thrusting out of the logo, so people know not to **** with the White Javelins.

Lightshow, Entropy, and Aether are bad choices. Do not use. New Age Alchemy isn't bad, but since it sounds like your music falls under the New Age genre, it seems a bit goofy to name your band after the genre of music you play (although it certainly would let audiences know what's coming). I voted for Segways, although I think it'd be better with a The in front of it, and better still spelled The Segues (since that's a music connotation as well). Javelin and Delegates are also good picks.

Yes, it alternately sounded like a form of punctuation or a dot. Not a javelin. Nor one that was white. Or even multiple white javelins.



Entropy sounds like a death metal band, and I'm sure there's already a band out there with that name. You should call yourselves the Placid Weasels.

Their music does not sound like the type that merits "Fighting" being used in the name. I'm still rooting hard for The Segues.

Well, we need recording equipment, but right now, just with me on the vocals and, xCifer666x on backing vocals, the guitarist Ryan Weir on acoustic guitar, and with a click loop I generated on Audacity, we sound far from New Age. We intend the music to be a mellow alternative band such as Death Cab For Cutie, with touches of modern synthpop bands like Yeasayer, MGMT, Sufjan Stevens and Empire Of The Sun, a little rap rock similar to Beck, and vestiges of the hard alternative genre, like Linkin Park, Thrice and Chevelle. Also, on the Cannibalism Forum, I made a thread called Error 404. This is the lyrics to the song I wrote for the band, which will likely use sampling from 'Megalomaniac' by Incubus and 'Faint' from Linkin Park. I might get a real keyboard this Christmas, so expect to hear from us in February/March/April.

Well, thanks for the name ideas... though, we might just be going for New Age Alchemy now. I got my keyboard I wanted for Christmas... and soon I'll try to record my music when I can get the band together. Also, I might try to audition for my friend's band, Below Sea Level. They have some material up on their MySpace and Facebook page, although the Facebook page was made by one of my friends, and not the band itself. Finally, we're going for a bizarro synthrock thing. Also... I'm making another band with captain falcon, as he is known on the site called Laid In China. This one'll probably just be regular rock. So... that be about it for now.
