    McDonalds' Sad-Meal

    No more Happy-Meals, kids.

When he vetoed the measure, Newsom said, "Parents, not politicians, should decide what their children eat, especially when it comes to spending their own money."

"Despite its good intentions, I cannot support this unwise and unprecedented governmental intrusion into parental responsibilities and private choices."
Yay, now the government is telling us what we can and can't eat. There's that freedom loving american spirit I'm proud to be a part of.

The new ordinance, which requires Happy Meals and other fast food with toys to meet new nutritional standards or else be removed from menus, goes into effect December 1, 2011.
Those horrible monsters! How dare they!

Yay, parents don't have to wait long before the government does all the parenting for them!

This is ONLY for San Francisco. NO WHERE ELSE.

        And it will not last.

I dont see why everybodys mad about it.

Freedom of choice is cool and all, but theres alot of REALLY stupid people out there who make really stupid choices, and sometimes the bad choices need to be removed for their own good wether they like it or not.

But maybe that makes me a pinko commie fascist. :3

Would you say your attitude for that also extends to gun control? Such as, no guns? :3

Boo! McDonald's meet nutrition standards? California...really? How about, you know, taking your kids to eat...somewhere else? Or even better, parents even single dads or mother's actually cook nutritious meals for your children if their health is your concern?

Edit: Heheh. That was pretty funny, Mora.

I support the idea that everybody should own a gun, and everybody should carry a gun. But I also support mandatory safety and training courses you should have to pass to own and use a gun.

You cant just let every jerkoff who turns 19 or 18 or whatever age it is now, walk into a shop and apply for a liscense, but thats how it is right now~

Maybe parenting should be extended to that same favor. Mandatory classes.

Annoying. Just like all those anti-trans-fat laws passed in the last few years, it's an unwelcome and totally arbitrary intrusion. Always good to know the government won't allow people to eat food that might kill them in thirty or forty years, but has no issue with them going to a bar and drinking themselves to death in a much shorter time frame as soon as they become adults (while still having the potential to put a financial hurt on healthcare in the process).

Also, how exactly is San Francisco's mayor ending up as the voice of reason? That's pretty messed up right there. And should have clued them in that something was amiss. Because you know for him to get that job he has to be a liberal's liberal. Especially since he's straight, which I imagine was a strike against him in that city.

I don't get why people "don't know" that it isn't good for you then get "surprised" to find out later. And, McDonald's, of all places. This is either plain ignorance or laziness.

Edit: Actually, I think I already answered my own question.

I hope they can explain to the kids why Ronald McDonald stopped visiting their schools after his company finds out they won't be squeezing too many pennies from the brats in that town. And just see if the ball pit at their McDonald's gets the dead rats cleaned out of it now.

Then serve the rats to the customers like they did at Hardy's. That was awesome. ****ed up, but awesome.
