Re: ...But That Was [Yesterday]
Brilliant presentation, I quite enjoyed it, more than the Newgrounds "games as art" style games I have played in the past. About the only criticism I can give is that as the game functions as a metaphor of life, by "turning away" from the black wall (r.e. your hangups) it seems that the game is telling you to ignore your problems and they'll go away.
I find that kind of funny, and "gameplay" wise legitimate, but I think the presentation of it doesn't make sense since the whole point is to "keep moving forward." (Yes, I realize the "ghost dog" at the end thing, and the "need to reflect" thing but I find it an awkward mechanic considering the style of the game)
Obviously this doesn't make it bad or anything, simply a minor presentation gripe given the narrative. Absolutely stunning graphics, music and extremely "casual," but yet keeps your attention.

Ahhh, I don't know, I kind of wanted to like it more than I did.
It really is very well-done in terms of visuals, but thematically it just seemed kind of trite. I'm certainly happy to see more and more games moving in the direction of actually having something to say about life and human experience, but I don't think that this game had anything particularly interesting to say in that regard.

A personal journey about learning to always listen to your dog and look away from the pig bile of blue goop.
I did like how it incorporated the different little elements into the platformer. It's kinda too bad they decided on the "artsy" route instead of the "fun" one however. But that's just me.
