And it is decidedly not attractive. Like a console menu version of plumpkin, basically.

Re: New Xbox 360 Dashboard
Netflix has undergone the same treatment. I think the descriptions are actually harder to read, now. Also, Netflix has a search option, finally. But it replaces the add-to-queue button. Normally when I go through movies, I'm all, oh, I want that, click, ooh another, click, and that, click. And it was easy to tell if I had a movie in the queue already, because the button wouldn't show if it was.
Now, I have to actually look into the video to add it or find out if I already did.
Thus, it's not as streamlined. Also, ugly."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Re: New Xbox 360 Dashboard
Netflix is less streamlined, you say, but how is the rest of the main 360 interface? It can't possibly be more cluttery and less streamlined than it already was.
I tried to download the update yesterday morning, but it kept giving me an error message, and would not let me fully download it. I had wanted to play Rock Band 3, but chose not to, because, because the game will not recognize my downloaded songs if I'm offline. I was instead going to try Chime, which I'd not played yet, but could not do that either, because it needed an update. I didn't even try any other XBLA games, because they most likely would have reverted to trial versions.
Yeah, there's a reason I don't play my 360 that often.

When a game asks you to update, you can choose not to do it and continue playing.Originally posted by Perversion View PostI tried to download the update yesterday morning, but it kept giving me an error message, and would not let me fully download it. Also, to play things offline...

Re: New Xbox 360 Dashboard
Not to get into a fanboy discussion/shouting match, but the PS3's interface is one of the reasons it's my main console as opposed to the 360. It's sleek, it's streamlined, and everything is easy to find. The 360 (especially online) is bloated and filled with worthless headings that I have to endure to find what I'm looking for.
Now, if the new 360 interface gave me the option to turn off 3/4 of that bloat, I might be willing to give it another look. But why would they get rid of all the ads, videos, and "special offers" for their games and online content, and risk losing money? They wouldn't.

Not as bad as the ps3 interface though, which really makes me not want to use it.

Ugly as it is, I have no complaints from a functionality standpoint. Everything I need is pretty easy to access, just as it was before. Although I saw on The Escapist that the indie developers are up in arms because the section for those games has been taken out of the regular Game Marketplace and stuffed somewhere that fewer people are likely to see it."Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity."
