    Paranoia Agent

To start off, I'd like to say I'm not a fan of Anime, at all.

But recently I've been watching this show late night on adultswim by reccomindation of my friend. It's not at all like a trditional anime, and the first few episodes kinda blew--but now it's pretty insane (i.e. awesome). Anyone else like this show? It's damn intense.

It's definately one of the best animes on Adult Swim. In other words, it's really good.

What I saw was really really boring.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."

It's really disturbing. I've only seen up to where the woman is struggling with her dual personalities. It's a really good show. Once I have money I think I'll buy the DVDs.

I've been really liking this show from the first ep. The mood of it kind of reminds me of Twin Peaks.

Sadly, I've only caught a handful of episodes so far, but I've liked what I've seen... and it makes me want to watch Perfect Blue again.

Watch the Japanese version, for the love of God. The American version changes a lot of details unnecessarily. And names too.

                    Case in point:

                    JAPANESE VERSION: Shonen Bat

AMERICAN VERSION: Little Slugger(or whatever it is)

Doesn't Shonen Bat just sound better?

(Sorry, I'm a whore when it comes to changing something just because it's being shown in a different country.)

Localization is done for good reason. It's an attempt to give the American audience an experience more personally similar to the Japanese. Shonen Bat doesn't mean anything in America, it just sounds cool. Little Slugger was most likely the closest connotation they could come up with that would be familiar here. I agree that the original versions are usually superior, just wanted to say that it's not done just for the sake of changing things.

The ADR script guy visits the Adult Swim board and says that most lines they changed were due to there not being enough/too much lip flaps to accurately translate.

Do you guys remember when adult swim showed all the negative reviews for it, I don't know what the critics where thinking, but It's become one of my favorites.

                              I saw one episode.

                              I really like the intro.
                              ...and that's why.
