    XBLA Games

I was looking to buy one, but I'm not sure what to get.

I already have Banjo Kazooie, and Rally X

I was thinking about the following

Super Meat Boy - It looks kind of fun, but I think I'd grow tired of it
Shadow Complex - Currently this is my choice
Castle Crashers - It looks good, but will a bad isp be a issue?
DeathSpank - It also looks good, but I've heard it's very short.
Trials HD - It was my original choice, but I heard it becomes frustratingly annoying.
Hydrophobia - I really wanted to get it, but I've heard it controls like crap.

    Any suggestions?

Only one I've played is Castle Crashers. A good time, especially with friends, although it doesn't have as much replay value as it seems to think. If you don't have anyone to play with offline and don't trust your Internet, might not be the best idea. It's still fun alone, but just not the same.

Castle Crashers is a lot of fun; but the amount of cheating in the online community is absurd; pretty much any game you can find will have someone who is level 255 (the max level is 99). I would only get it if your friends have the game, too.

Deathspank is actually pretty long, something like 12-15 hours. It is also incredibly repetitive and mindless in ways that make Diablo and Dynasty Warriors look deep and involved. The dialogue is really great; but the gameplay is mostly ... just there. I recommend it if you're a fan of The Tick or the Monkey Island games, though.

Shadow complex is pretty fun and you get a lot of neat powerups as you go through the game; but there's very little enemy variety and the aiming system is terrible. I'd say it is the best bet of the ones I've played, but I'd definitely download the trial and make sure the spotty targeting doesn't bother you that much.

You simultaneously make me interested in and repulsed by DeathSpank. I love The Tick, and do like the Diablo-style games, but really don't want repetitive gameplay right now. Puzzle Quest 2's constantly repeating grind filled me up on that for the next several months, at least. And the 'combat' in that game was at least interesting, even if the outcome was rarely in doubt.

castle crashers is my personal favorite downloadable game. But only if you got a friend to play with.
