Kingdom hearts MMORPG

I don't know about the rest of you, but I can feel a disterbance in the force telling me that, eventually, Square Enix is going to make an MMO of KH. Those of you who played Birth By Sleep will know that the potential for this is there.

Think about it: We've got the mysterious Keyblade War. Hundreds of players fighting on either the Light or Dark sides, similar to The Old Republic. They'll probably flesh out the story a bit more in Kingdom Hearts 3D for 3DS.

Well, I'm sure Square-Enix would be looking for more than "hundreds" of players if they did this!

I also think that it's not impossible, but unlikely since getting another numbered KH seems to be escaping their grasp.

the kingdoms hearts story which was fun and simple at the start, has gotten far too convoluted to really enjoy. I think the addition of an MMO would worsen it, plus it just seems unlikely like Mora said.

My theory of why there isn't a third installment yet though is probably from all the development bumps with versus XIII.

meeehhh it's okayyy. hardly as content heavy, but gameplay was a step forward.

by third installment i was talking more of a "sequel".

I'm not screaming in support of a KHMMORPG, I'm just saying it's probable.

If I were to get a say in the matter, I'd name it Must Maintain Order. That's "MMO" , similar to the fact that, in Kingdom Hearts 3D, the "3D" is going to be short for something.

Nothing's probable until the MMO formula is perfected. Most companies aren't willing to risk the huge investment that the genre requires, considering there's been many attempts and only a handful that actually succeeded.

Add that anyone who tries to copy the success of WoW is likely to be seen as second rate and therefore not worth switching subscriptions for, and you've got a very risky business investment.

An MMO of KH might not suck if they stick with the basic formula of battle systems. All of the KH games might have different takes on the battle system, but the main idea is always there.

Although, putting the controller interface onto a keyboard and mouse might make it suck.
