My year-long Activision boycott ended today

I picked up DJ Hero 2.

Then again, it was easy to avoid purchasing an Activision game for the past year, as they hadn't released anything I cared about playing.

      It's got a decent setlist, I'm sorry.

Yeah, there's some crap, but between old school stuff like Planet Rock and other old hip hop classics, and the DJ Shadow, DJ Q-Bert, and Scratch Perverts stuff, I couldn't pass it up. Glad there's less Daft Punk on this one. I was hyped to play their set, and it was kinda the deciding factor (along with DJ Shadow) to pick up the first one, but their stuff was a massive letdown.

Boycotted, not banned. And because it's Activision...do I really need a better reason than that?

I'm sure the boycott that ended as soon as they released a game that you liked was very harsh on you.

I'm not sure I've bought an Activision title in the last year either. But that wasn't motivated by distaste towards them (I do have that with their recent business practices, but it would have to be a lot stronger to actually keep me from getting a game I'd otherwise want) as it is motivated by their lack of worthwhile titles.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Prototype were the most recent titles I've bought that were published by them. The first two were okay the first time through. The DLC made MUA2 more interesting, though. Prototype; I couldn't get into for long.

It would be one thing if Activision made games I did not care to play. It would be easy enough to not buy their games. But Bobby Kotick is evil incarnate, and personifies everything that is wrong with the "big business" side of the games industry.

                      well... it's true.

you didn't boycott ****, you just did what you would have done if you weren't "boycotting"

Yes, in making this topic, I was well aware of that fact. It just sounds better to say I was boycotting Activision.

My one-day boycott of posting in this topic comes to an end.

                            So, uh... hi.

On topic for the game itself...

I was a bit disappointed with the setlist in the first two venues in Empire mode when I started last night, but it's just getting better the further I progress in the game.
