    Monster Rancher 5: Circus Caravan

    The first details on Monster Rancher 5 have been revealed; It shall be titled "Monster Rancher 5: Circus Caravan" and will follow two characters named Julio, a breeder and Nayuta, a shaman girl with the ability to unlock monsters from saucer stones without the apparent need of going to a shrine, both of them also circus performers. It shall a be a role-playing game and the flow will focus on going on adventures and making sure the circus shows are a success.

      Four was definately a good step, what with the multi-monster breeding, but this sounds like...not a good step. :<

        *ahem*, I guess I'm probably judging the game too early. Nothing has even been shown yet. From what I gather, CD/DVD regeneration and monster training's still in this one.

        But I really, really, REALLY hope they go back to the original formula when they go next-gen.

        Still, circus caravan? CIRCUS caravan? I mean, what the hell? That's like MegaMan in a tactical horror dating sim.

        Oh, and MR5's for the PS2.

          I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that maybe the Circus parts ARE the training, and how good your monster performs may effect the stat boosts or something. Just a theory.

          Whatever they do, they certainly better not take out the battling and tournaments. It would BE Monster Rancher without those.

            Suffice to say, it looks unlike anything I ever imagined, MR-wise.

            The music surprised me, big time. The trailer music alone is arguably better than most of the tracks in the series. Awesome orchestrated pieces haven't been around since MR2's battle music.

            The graphical style impressed me the most. The cel-shaded graphics look beautiful, especially in contrast to previous entries in the series, in which everyone was portrayed as portraits, with the only human MR character model in the entire series being the main character of MR4. This is a huge step forward should it continue through it's entirety once the final product is released.

            Speaking of which, it's quite clear now that MR5 will be a traditional RPG fused with the MR game flow, maintaining every primary aspect of the series, right down to the regeneration and training. There appears to be a big focus on the storyline, too. From what I've seen, it apparently integrates rather well. Can't be sure without trying it, though. Regardless, it looks quite promising. I feel quite ashamed that I lacked faith in Tecmo's approach due to the hardcore MR fan in me; that's exactly what I've been trying to avoid.

            To top it all off, it has Suezo, therefore I am sold.

            I wanna join the Caravan.

                I just bought MR3 last week. At first I was like "This is boring. WTF?" but once I got into it and learned how to fight I really started to enjoy it. You really do get attached to your monster. I don't want him to die.

                    Ah, I forgot to mention, there will be a promotional Anime, too. The DVD can be used to generate a secret monster.

                    Also, I want a Piroro.
