What's the worst purchase(s) you ever made?

For the first 3 years of college I diligently bought every book the teacher listed as required and optional books, since college loans were like funny money. This was a series of bad purchases.

My senior year I bought no books and had no different experience and saved about $1000. freakin college

I paid about $400 for a used Roland MC-505 a few years ago on eBay. It was one of those guys who withheld feedback until you left it for him instead of giving you positive feedback as SOON as you send payment on time...and he was so late sending it to me that not only could I not slash him with feedback, but I couldn't report him, either. It was too late to do anything.

When the thing finally DID arrive, it looked like it had been dropped down several flights of stairs, and the LED display went out on it like 2 weeks later. The thing is totally useless now.

Another horrible eBay ripoff was my sega CD that I bought...that never worked, and that guy did the same thing.

Needless to say, I never bought anything off of eBay again.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories when it first came out...I mean, it was good, but not worth sixty bucks....

Oh, well....I bought a TV that has no remote (nor is NOT universal remote compatible), but it was only twenty bucks....Bad investment or...?

There may be something else, but initially what I think of is my AlphaSmart 3000 portable word processor. $300 back in '02, and while I did use it some, not near enough to justify that kind of money for something that did nothing except word processing. And now it just collects dust, because of my laptop.

Yeah, ****ing text books. I bought a pile for this one class that I didn't even touch, except to put them in a box. They're on my shelf now, to look like I care about things.

Also, on Tuesday, I bought of a slice of pizza at this place called Nick's House of Pizza for two bucks. TWO BUCKS. And it was a limp, doughy piece of bull****.

Don't go to Nick's House of Pizza, guys.

Anyways, the Eureka Seven movie was close, but I feel that purchasing the first season of Battlestar Galactica on HD-DVD was the worst purchase I made. Not only did the format become defunct, like, two months later, but a few of the later discs were scratched and caused the episodes to skip. Keep in mind that I started watching the discs after the return window with Amazon expired, so there was nothing I could do.
