A Burlington woman accused of threatening to use a knife to “put a smile” on her 13-month old daughter has been sentenced.
Valerie Beale, 24, pleaded no contest to first-degree aggravated domestic assault and guilty to domestic assault, in exchange for a sentence of 16 months-8 years in prison. She entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors in Vermont Superior Court in Burlington Sept. 9, a day before lawyers were scheduled to begin selecting jurors for a trial.
