I considered this, but I really don't care about the competitive multiplayer, and that seems to be most of the point...so I'm just going to wait for Dead Rising 2 in a couple weeks.
I played probably 5 rounds of Halo 3 online, and never played it again. Same for Halo 2. I dunno. Maybe Reach has finally changed things up a bit. I most likely wont get it.
Talk about beating a horse that died years ago...!
Way to make more money, Microsoft. Touché.
I stopped caring about Halo when I realized I sucked at Halo 2.
laaawwwwlllll @ this post.
Anyway, all the little changes make it a totally different game. There's no more dual wielding. Which makes things like the plasma pistol seem pretty useless now, but I'm still new at it. A lot of different/new weapons. Most of the weapons from halo 3 do not exist any longer save for the basic alien pistol and rifle, and the army rifle too. The assault rifle is a single shot now instead of bursts of three.
A lot of the new weapons I don't really know how to use, and I get killed when I try to use them.
You also get loadouts now that give you a specific ability mapped to the LB, in lieu of the pickups from Halo 3 like the shield and the energy drain. These include a sprint, jetpack, holo-duke (runs to a point you choose in your line of sight to distract the enemy), armor lock (makes you invincible but unable to move, works great in hectic matches because you do it, some asshole sits around waiting for you to come out of it, and then someone throws a grenade in there, killing him but you come out fine to kill the grenade thrower), and active camo. I wish they were customizable though.
The thing I really don't like about the game, however, are the maps. A few are remakes from Walo 2, a few from 3, and the original ones kinda blow.
Yeah I agree with the maps. They are mostly remakes, and the new ones tend to feel like Call of Duty with a thousand different hidey holes to camp.
The Firefight mode is alot of fun. I just wish it wasn't quite so easy when you do sniper or rocketlauncher. They needed to step up the heavy gunners when you are using an infinite ammo item.
I do love one major invention though. The ability to mute everyone!!! No more lousy kids shouting. And there is an option to just have your team allowed to talk.
And unlike Call of Duty, you are never kicked out of a game for no reason.
