Re: God did not create the universe.
his book is unessisary but one im interested in. looks like it could be a good scientific read.
it doesnt mater that there is no reason for a god. people will belive it even to direct evidence to the conterary or in the face of logic. people want to believe in a higher power so they choose to, and no book of any magatude will change that fact.
what i want to see is a direct seperation of faith and fact. religious people need to go to schools that cater to them if they want the religious creationism and stop blathering about scientific creationism. im even tired of idiots interjecting religion into law. cut out the religious requirement from marriage and offer a new set of rights so everyone can gain benifit from it without religious wars.
it just isnt worth arguing over who is right or wrong in the religion vs science war, just give both sides their due and let people choose for themselves - that is true freedom.

This is where everyone takes it out of context. Fox News and conservative blogs lambast the scientist, bringing up the argument of science vs religion again. All the while I sit at home and get to listen to my family say how much they hate Stephen Hawking....and that's why.

Re: God did not create the universe.
I can see it now. Westboro Baptist Church is gonna make signs that say:
God Hates Steven Hawkings
As for me, I don't really care how the universe was created. All I care about is waiting until December 24th, 2012, so I can laugh at all the idiots who think the world's going to end on the 21st (some think it's the 23rd).
