Premiers on AMC on Halloween. I cant wait! I read a ton of the comic but lost track of it when I moved to a town without a comic shop anywhere close by.

Re: The Walking Dead series!
The comic is a good zombie fic, but I cringe a lot during dialogue. It's like the writer, blanking on his name, knows how to write natural-sounding dialogue but never learned what makes it interesting to read.
And people fly off the handle with unbelievably over-exagerrated reactions ALL the time. Like, I get it, you know where the characters are going and what's gonna happen, but the strain and stress isn't transferred in the reading like it should be to accept these overblown reactions.
All that said, a zombie series has my interest piqued, since it's never really been done before as a TV serial."Mindless killing doesn't do a lot for me anymore." - Sampson

Back to the topic. The series looks like it will be awesome for the following reasons:
1) Zombies
2) Shotguns
3) 1 and 2 appear to be combined in the series
I would prefer cheesy dialogue in a zombie series. Makes more sense considering the precedents. What's the point of having an emergency response system if you can't provoke the wrath of God?

Re: The Walking Dead series!
I accept that in anime because typically when it happens, it's meant to be that way by the tone of the show. I would normally in zombie stuff as well, because a large portion of the precedented material is that way. In this case Kirkman is taking this very seriously, and the overblown stuff just doesn't fit what he proclaimed to be going for."Mindless killing doesn't do a lot for me anymore." - Sampson

Re: The Walking Dead series!
AMC has a good track record with original series. Breaking Bad's the best drama on TV right now, and Mad Men's no slouch. Rubicon's a bit too up its own ass at times, but it has some interesting swerves to it. Plus, zombies rock. So this is one to try."Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity."
