    Summer Listenin'

What kinda tunes does summer put you in the mood for?

The Pillows are an annual addiction for me. The feverish heat puts me in the mind of FLCL. But I can't make a balanced playlist with just them.

Sunny skies also get me in the mood for ELO.

Summer makes me want Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Breezy, female-lead easy things to listen to like The Sundays or Belly or Lush. Road trip music like Steve Miller Band. This year has been a bit of a special case though.

Summer brings about restlessness. Anything with a fast and strong beat.

        And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't
So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope

I don't necessarily want to listen to it, but that's what this topic reminded me of.

These two things are fairly mutually exclusive. Lush is sometimes only slightly softer than My Bloody Valentine.

My goal this summer is to play Campfire Headphase at an actual campfire.

(Stopping short of the Kit Carruthers overdose, ofcourse.)
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
I had no idea how beautiful you were.

One of my friends loves Boards of Canada. I think they're good, but can't see the huge deal about them.

                        Every day is summer. ~

There tends to be a lot more family and friend functions during summertime, and most commonly playing during these functions is country, or classic rock. Therefore summer to me is a lot of Rolling Stones, Skynyrd, Johnny Cash, Clapton, Led Zeppelin, CCR, The Beatles, old Aerosmith.

Disagree, I think a lot of their stuff is pretty easy to listen to, especially off of Gala. I mean of course there are exceptions.

And I think every summer I gotta cruise to Going Back To Cali

Why can't hip-hop/R&B artists go a single album without calling all their friends over to guest star?
