Death seems to be the theme of my vacations.

I just returned from my trip at San Diego and El Centro. Didn't know about a trip? Well, you didn't ask.

Anyway, things are kind of strange now. See during my last vacation to El Centro 3-4 years ago one of my relatives overdosed and my grandma's brother was dying. While we had fun, it was also difficult to keep my emotions in tack. This year we wanted to get there before my grandma's sister and last sibling died. She end up dying 2 months before we could get there... then during the middle of the trip we get a call from home at 4 in the morning. Something ruptured in my dog's ear. The vet managed to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. She doesn't have much longer. She has been living with a horrible disease that dogs usually don't survive a year after the diagnosis. Here it is 7 years later and it isn't even the disease that will do her in. She's been around 11 years now, lived a relatively long life... yet the pain of knowing her time is near now... I'm sorry I gotta go. The tears are making it hard to see the screen.

Sorry to hear it, man. At least you can be glad you got so much more time with her than you would have expected after the initial diagnosis, even though this isn't connected to that.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I really needed it. Though, I do have a bit more bad news. A few days ago my grandpa on my father's side died of cancer. He was a terrible man that would beat up his wife and abuse his kids. A part of me feels that this was a fitting punishment for the things he has done... yet it is a terrible way to die. Something that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The whole situation brings about several conflicting emotions. I don't really know how I should feel about this.

Just watch some Dexter and knowing a terrible and abusive man has died won't hurt you as much.
