While i have no interest in Natal, this could convince me to trade in my current 360 for this new one...as long as the failure rate isnt horrendous.

First thing that came to my mind when I found out it was called Kinect was that old Connect 4 commercial. Pretty sneaky, sis. And also K'Nex toys.

Natals just a lame ass gimmick that wont be around for too long, and will probably hardly be used at all. Same goes for Sonys Wii ripoff. I dont see it taking off.

But then again, I always hear lots of chicks talking about how they bought wiifit and love playing wii tenis, so i dunno.

With the Wii, it's motion "gimmick" is the primary control option and they've focused thrpeir attention on the casual "blue ocean." Kinect and Move are both add ons that will only be bought by a portion of the consoles audience so high budget games will still have to focus on the traditional controllers. And with the two being so different it may be hard doing multiplatform games without relying on the regular controllers. So they'll mostly have games that publishers can afford to have not sell big numbers aka shovelware.

Kinect not having buttons limits what genres it can do, too.

That didn't stop people from saying "it only a gimmick" or "it's never going to last" when it came out.

I'm not defending the lolzy hardware, just saying it's funny that people are saying it again for another E3.
