They were on closeout at my work. I know the older ones that use the console's own power supply were more likely to cause problems than prevent them, but this one has its own power supply. And my PS3 (when it even IS on nowadays
) does tend to throw out quite a bit of warmth. Granted, I've left the right side unimpeded by other devices as per Valk's advice, and the back of my entertainment center is wide open, but every time I go behind the entertainment center to change wiring or something, I can always feel a bunch of warmth coming from the PS3.
I mean, ideally, a cooling fan would be a wise idea, but I'm not sure if anyone has heard any horror stories resulting from using one.
