I always enjoy reading about strange, obscure, and bizarre laws that are on the books. Here's a list of such laws, one for each state:

Some of the really big WTFs:
Alabama:
It’s illegal to wear a fake mustache that causes laughter in church.
Alaska:
Whispering in someone’s ear while he’s moose hunting is prohibited.
Massachusetts:
No gorilla is allowed in the backseat of any car.
You got to wonder just what the hell happened to get some of these stupid laws on the books in the first place.
Some of them aren't really stupid just obsolete. Like this one:
Tennessee:
Selling hollow logs is strictly forbidden.
It may look stupid to us, but my guess is that law was passed back when people relied on firewood for heating, and sticking hollow logs in a bundle of wood would be a good way of ripping people off. Here in Pennsylvania, the politicians do occasionally overturn laws that are irrelevant (there was one a few years ago that was removed that prohibited people from removing logs from the Allegheny River; probably that was important back when there was a bigger timber industry in the state), but a lot of these laws hang around because the legislators are more concerned about current matters. The really silly laws just get forgotten.
