    Might be a stretch, but..

Does anyone here live, or has lived, in Colorado? I want to know as much of a native's perspective as I can. I've never lived anywhere but Florida and I'm a bit nervous about land elevation and that thing called snow. Also, what there is to do... if anyone knows anything about Denver that'd be ideal.

    Thank yooouuu

Sorry, the entirety of my Colorado experience was a wedding up in Golden, and then heading out to Vail for a day from there. Coors brewery was interesting, and provides a large amount of free beer (which gets you drunk quicker up there, side effect of the altitude), and with a variety of kinds to choose from too. They even have an 'express tour' I saw a few locals take, which was bypassing the actual facility and going straight to the bar in the basement. Vail's nice, but too touristy. Oh, and there's some kind of natural amphitheater up there, the location of which I can't recall.

Be sure to bring a computer or something, they won't be much else to do there.

I think the Pav has really outdone itself with the vast store of knowledge we've presented about the Centennial State. Harkening back to a question I wrote, I also recall that Colorado Springs is the headquarters for the U.S. Olympic Committee. Just to provide more useless info.

Of course, it seems like a lot of Pavvies are from the South, specifically Georgia. So I guess the odds of any of them spending much time that far away in a state that doesn't have a great deal to offer compared to, say, California, would be pretty low.

I haven't lived in Colorado, but there seems to be some connection between that state and Michigan. I swear I have met more people here from Colorado than any other state and the two states are nearly a nation apart...

My best guess is that the connection here is when you drink large amounts of free beer, moving to Michigan suddenly seems like less of a bad idea then it did when you were sober.

Hey, hey...Michigan isn't a bad place to live.

Yeah, I'm not fooling anyone, am I?

I'll buy that for a dollar!

And by 'that' I mean 'the multitude of houses in Michigan currently selling for about a dollar'.

                        I know!

We just got one for $25,000.

It wasn't in bad shape, either.

Uhhh. I know people in/from the Denver/Fort Collins area and it's a pretty hip place. Good beer, little music scene, friendly folks, and the weather is actually quite nice.

Lived in Denver my whole life:

-Elevation's no big. You'll feel like you're not getting enough oxygen for the first week or so but then you'll get used to it and won't even know a difference.

-Get one or two big snow storms a year but in all actuality we don't get TOO much snow in Denver. Much more in the mountains, of course, but we claim 300 days of sunshine a year.

-Denver proper (downtown) has something resembling a nightlight. A handful of danceclubs, comedy clubs, pedestrian malls, and a nice theatre center. Doesn't come anywhere close to the big cities but it's there.

-Like beer? You're in luck. Most microbrews outside Weashington. Lots and lots of great and interesting beer, ...and Coors. =(

-If you like outdoor sports there's no better place in the USA.
