Re: Dennis Hopper died
They say celebrity deaths comes in 3's, whose going to be the third one I wonder?
Ive never watched any of the movies Dennis Hopper was in except Super Mario Bros.(1993), so his death affected me as much as Gray Colemans...lolLast edited by JPS; 05-29-2010, 05:02 PM.

I heard Oprah was having health problems.Originally posted by Riotsword View PostDamn. That sucks.
Who's next, then?
But if she dies you can expect the population of obese women in the united states to drop drastically too.

Gary Coleman wasn't gray, he was black.Originally posted by JPS View PostGray Colemans...
Also, only Super Mario Brothers??? You've never seen Apocalypse Now? For shame!
EDIT: And how can you go wrong with River's Edge? Dennis Hopper's character gets offed by a shovel to the head by a 12 year old (?) kid who wants to steal his bale of marijuana, and the cast also includes Crispin Glover (doing probably his best Crispin Glover), Daniel Roebuck (Arzt from LOST), and a token Keanu Reeves.Last edited by Perversion; 05-29-2010, 05:57 PM.

Re: Dennis Hopper died
I didn't particularly care for it; it was a modern adaptation(at the time) of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness", but with the story somewhat butchered. It did have some good moments, including a tiger mauling and the depiction of dead Vietnamese people hanging naked from trees. The tiger mauling scene is the best part of the entire movie, IMO. I can't help but laugh every time.Originally posted by Perversion View PostYou've never seen Apocalypse Now? For shame!
I didn't like the novel much, either, but prefer it to the film, simply because of the characters. The theme in both the novel and movie adaptation were excllent.
Easyrider was an awesome film though. Coke-dealing, pot-smoking, hippie bikers on a Captain America bike FTW.Last edited by The Toecutter; 05-29-2010, 05:57 PM.The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder." ~ Thomas Jefferson

Re: Dennis Hopper died
I'm fairly certain there are no tiger maulings in Apocalypse Now. Chef goes into the jungle to get some mangos, and a tiger jumps out, which pretty much pushes him over the line of sanity. A cow gets slaughtered live on film (meaning, it's not fake) with machetes, juxtaposed against Kurtz having the same done to him by Martin Sheen's character while The Doors' The End plays as the climax of the film. Now THIS is the best scene in the film, without question.
