Suggestion...regularly backup stuff on your PS3! Unfortunate update!

the 320gig HDD in my PS3 had an issue, and i lost EVERYTHING on it. Thankfully i had backed up all my recent saves except for ROAW, 3D.GameHeroes, and MNR. People were talking about OG PS3's having issues, so i decided not to take any chances.

So here is a good tip, back up your stuff regularly!

            External hard drive!

unless all your games allow the save to be copied to USB storage, or a SD card or whatever. some do, some don't.

              surprising.

Historically, Sony has used their proprietary Memory Stick format, so really, how surprising is that?

I've never purchased one, used to have a phone that could expand the memory with an SD card or whatever, but i've only ever needed memory sticks, so it wasnt a big deal.

I think i can get a 4 gig one for 10 bucks or something, that should work for the Wii.

My big thing is that now EVERY game i play i have to get all updates and stuff like that, which is gonna take forever. And i've downloaded 324 items from the PSN since i got my PS3 (wont need to redownload demo's of course), and now i have to REDOWNLOAD all of that.

I think first i should try the PS3 a few times to make sure the HDD isnt corrupted. I think dust got into a connection or something. I hadnt done a thorough cleaning in a while.

I've wiped my HDD twice now, having backed it up once, and having started from scratch once.

For the redownloads, I ended up just starting at the top of my download list, and doing a few every night. I've still not redownloaded everything, but for now, I'm okay with that.

Jeroak, between demos, add-ons, downloadable games, game trailers, etc, I'd venture to guess that my download list is pushing 300 myself.

To be honest, i thought my download list would be larger.

How many do you own, perversion?

and how many are hooked up, right now?

                              Touche. However:

                              First question: Only two.

Second question: None. The 80 gig got the YLOD, and I brought my 60 gig to my buddy's house the night of the LOST finale, and it's still sitting in a backpack behind the loveseat. Funny how my laptop has monopolized my time since its arrival.

Don't worry, PS3. Before Sunday is over, I will play a Blu-Ray movie and/or TV show and a game using your abilities.
