    June: the month of metal

So, I pre-ordered Whitechapel's upcoming album "A New Era of Corruption" today. It's expected to be here within ten days or so. It comes out for everybody else (because I'm special and got the pre-ordered autographed one) on the eighth. What makes this Tuesday special, you ask? All of these bands are releasing albums on that day:
Eyes Set to Kill - Broken Frames
Heaven Shall Burn - Iconoclast III: Invictus
Whitechapel - A New Era of Corruption
Kingdom of Sorrow - Behind the Blackest Tears
The Funeral Pyre - Vultures At Dawn
    MyChildren MyBride - Lost Boy
What makes June as a whole a 'month of metal,' is that not only are those bands releasing albums but so are:
Haste the Day - The Wolf King
    Parkway Drive - Deep Blue
    Ozzy Osbourne - Scream
    Soilwork - The Pain Broadcast
    Danzig - Deth Red Sabaoth
I am excited for June 8th, pavilionites.

I sorta enjoy listening to the music of a band called Mastodon.

Mastodon is definitely a band I could see you liking, Perversion. They just released Crack the Skye last year. If you haven't already heard it, look up "Oblivion" from that album.

New Ozzy and Danzig. Ehhhhh, I dunno about Ozzy. I couldnt stand his last big single. He just doesnt rock as hard as he used to. Hopefully Danzigs new stuff is good.

And Devin Townsend is going to be doing a small accoustic show at Long & McQuades in Vancouver on June.1st. I wanna go, but I dunno. Itd be pretty kickass to meet him and get my Ziltoid the Omniscient album signed by him. I think he lives right out in Burnaby which is like a 45min drive from where I am.

Goddamn I love this album. So many good songs. This songs great how the second half of the song totally changes pace and is all nice and slow. Its like a totally different band.

I like Ozzy's new title track off his album. His vocals kick ass on it.

EDIT: Also it seems Slipknot's bassist has died. Truly a good month for metal.

Way to go Cutter. May is not a good month for metal. Dio died. The bassist of the band that got me into thrash metal died.

              Slipknot is weak.

                I disagree with you sir.
                Disasterpiece - Iowa

                Sic - self-titled

Scream - Vol. 3: Subliminal Verses (Special Edition)

This Cold Black - All Hope is Gone

My favorite band is Behemoth, Cutter. I still don't think Slipknot is weak. Overplayed, yes. But not weak. Nor is it a good month of metal when their bassist dies, even if you think Slipknot is weak.

There was a period of a few months in my life where I got really into metal with stuff like Opeth, Mastodon, and Nachtmystium. I haven't touched those albums since then. They now collect dust on my shelf back home and might never be listened to again.

Misery Index and Arsis did release new albums this month. Ha che-cha cha cha cha!

                          Crack the Skye is awful.
I know. But "Oblivion" and "March of the Fire Ants" are good.
                          Nachtmystium
They are coming out with a new album this summer.

That was Jimmy Durante. Charlie Chaplin's "Tramp" was a famous Silent Era character.
