One thing I hope RM3 will have.

I really hope this next installment will let you switch characters in and out of your party like in most professional RPGs. I hated having to be limited to just 4 members in RM1.

Sure, it was possible to make a character-switching system (I've done so a couple times.), but this time I'd like to have it be in the Default system as a menu option. I'm sure lots of people argree with me here.

    No, not really.

    Easy, simple system.

I don't understand what would be gained by having it a built-in system. It's not difficult at all to create the event and you get to make it however you want it. I actually don't like party switching in most RPGs. I always end up using the same party the entire time or having to waste time trading equipment back and forth when i do switch. Unless I want to buy ultimate equipment for eight characters i'm not using. And unless the members who aren't with you gain experience (like in Legend of Dragoon for example) the main hero ends up way more powerful than everybody else.

What I'd like to see is character switching during battle -- like Final Fantasy X. You can have a full party but only like, say, four characters in battle at a time. If you want to switch them on the fly, you can do so according to the situation. For instance, if there are flying enemies, you can replace a sword-user in the field with an archer whenever you wanted.

YES!!! I completely agree. I hope there is a way to do this.

Don't set your standards too high. I mean, it's a huge leap to final fantasy-esque battles, a 2d to 3d editor, and, most importantly, graphics that don't look like they were pulled from Harvest Moon. An FF10 this is not. More like FF 9 1/2.

Probably more like a FF 7 1/2 or 8 1/2 actually, the way it sounds and looks. I think there's a way to do it in RPGM2, but I doubt it'll ever be a feature of the DBS in an RPGMaker.

Well, it's helpful for those who don't have enough skill to make such a thing. Creating a CBS is a complicated task, in ANY RPG Maker.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

I didn't really he was talking about switching characters in battle. Yes, CBS's are extremely hard to make. I haven't managed to figure it out. I thought he meant the regular party changing events which are easy to make.
