Never been a big fan of Dio, but he did have a huge influence in rock and metal music. A big loss in the music business.

Yeah, I checked on it as well before posting. Nowadays, the ratio of actual celebrity deaths to significantly reported rumored ones is about 1:5. But with cancer, it's pretty likely not to be a gag. Those typically feature a more sudden cause of death, like a car accident.

He was one of the five biggest names in metal's history, shame he had to have such a nasty end.
