Single survivors of big airline accidents tend to be kids. More resilient. At least this one didn't have to then trek through the rainforest for 9 days in order to get rescued. Especially given the broken legs.

The thing that really gets me with situations like this is people always say stuff like he must have had an angel/god on his side, it's a miracle, etc. Ignoring the fact that implies God just didn't care for all those other people on the plane. Can you imagine being on a plane that's crashing and an angel appears, everybody starts cheering and he goes "Sorry, folks. I'm only here for this guy. The rest of you are on your own. I'd say use this time to make your peace with God but... looks like he's already made his mind up on you."

I totally agree with you. That boy was just DAMN lucky is all. Are they saying if his parents were on the plane or not? Even if they weren't that guy is going to be tramatized for life.

Both his parents and his older brother died in the crash.
