    Old stuff is back!

It's been a while since we plunged into the mysterious place that is "Valk's archive of old pavilion stuff", hasn't it?

Today I bring you a massive pile of "old pavilion stuff", in the form of demos!

These are all first-year demos. RPG Maker 1 was very new, and g0rdy and Angelsboi were just beginning their time as pavilion webmasters. This is also back before the staff was backing everything up, so when the g0rdy/angelsboi version of the site went down, most of these vanished with it.

The following 19 demos are not yet added to the directory on site, so I'll provide direct links to their submission topics. I don't have story information for any of them, and I only know the creator of one. So if any of these are familiar, like, possibly yours, please reply with some info so I can add it.

    Aeon Chronicles
    Awakening
    Charred Steel
    Dragonstone Saga
    Eternity Road
    Final Fantasy R
    Gehenna: The Eden Project
    Knight's Valor
    Last of the Magi
    Mc Chris' Quest
    Patman's Adventure
    Prelude to a Dream
    Quester
    Quest for the Orbs
    Random Eyes
    SUPERFRIENDS
    The Beast
    The Four Horsemen
    Trick or Treat

So, with this pile, is our archive finally restored? NO. This just finally depletes my personal archive (I think. it's badly organized). everything I have is finally on the site (unless I missed stuff). Now, I don't remember everything that was on the site, and I know I didnt download absolutely everything on the site. I wasnt actually on staff until 2004, so it was more a hobby to download everything rather than a responsibility. But there are two games that I remember very well, and that I know I don't have. These two games are "Crystal Heart", and "Run Run Run Go Get A Robot Then Fight Fight Fight".

If you have either of those, speak up!

I checked my back up CDs again. I've got none of these.

I did, however, find my first demo. I won't allow it back on the site though, it's ****y **** ****.
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
I had no idea how beautiful you were.

I won't upload it, since gus doesnt want it up. but I do intend to play it when I can get access to a working dex drive.

but knowing the title of another game that wasnt on the site let me find a folder I lost track of with lots of full games and demos that still arent on the site. So, more of those will be coming. Thanks, gus!

included in the folder was another zip of Crystal Heart. which unfortunately also has blank gme files. did this game ever work? two copies, made at different times, by different people, and neither work. the first one was from an archive that someone else sent me. I apologize that I can't remember his name, he was an awesome guy.

                Re: Old stuff is back!

I restored one game from this above-mentioned folder: Mark Soukup's "Game Collection".

This already had a listing on the site, but no download. it has a download now:
                http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/...ead.php?p=9571

It'll go in the directory tomorrow.

on another note, the folder containes a "robotgohome2". I don't recall the game having a sequel, though. maybe a second archive copy? a second version? any ideas? My dex drive doesnt work.

here's the file, if anyone feels like checking it out.

I still have my Dex Drive around somewhere. If I dig it up, you want it?

oh, I have a dex drive. it just doesnt like windows 7. and it didnt like windows vista before that. the dexplorer software only runs on OSes up to XP. and even then, it's a piece of crap that can never be counted on.

                    thanks for the offer, though.

I've used my DexDrive on Vista multiple times. In fact, I used it for the demoes present at this year's MagCon. Which version of the DexPlorer software are you using? My new PC doesn't have a floppy disk drive, so I had to download the software available at the Mag.

i remember playing some of these but i cant for the like of me remember specifics like who made what and what the story was about. i looked for crystal heart on my computer but it wasnt one that i downloaded so perhaps i too got a dud and deleted it?

Oh, right. it does work in vista.

my mind is all "blah" from the DNS issues the pav has been having this past week.

it doesnt work on 64 bit operating systems, that's what the problem is.
