Maybe it's just me not having really ever played any of the Sonic games, but this topic's title made me think this was gonna be about another Sonic the Shovel(ware)hog game. Or would Sonic the Hedgehog who's teats have milked dry for the past decade be more appropriate?

            ^ wat

The game sounds and looks interesting. Visually, it is reminiscent of a 32-bit RPG. Y'know one (of the few) that holds up.

Now port it to something else besides the ****ing iPhone, Square.

Give it six months, and it'll be either WiiWare, XBLA, or a PSN/PSP download. That seems to be the way things work nowadays.

It used to be that Microsoft used to get six month or a year exclusivity. Now Apple does for the iPhone.

In reality, though, it's probably just because it's a very inexpensive platform to develop for, and anything that gains a modicum of success that resembles an actual "real" game eventually gets ported elsewhere. You know, build up name recognition on the most popular handheld device in the world, and then bank on that recognition on gaming consoles.

This looks pretty neat. I'll grab it later.

Although, Song Summoner was supposed to be good too, and I could never get into it. Chaos Rings seems at least a little more interesting.
