    Notice how many games these days feature an inappropriate appearance from Dead Rising's Frank West? Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, Lost Planet 2, probably Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Left 4 Dead 2... and that's all just in the past year. Though Frank may not be starring in Dead Rising 2, this forever-limping, wars-covering (y'know), penis-nosed journalist with the zombie curse and a heart of gold is clearly here to stay.

    While recording the latest episode of Dtoid's Bit Transmission podcast, Capcom's Seth Killian volunteered his insight on the mindset behind the Frank West overload of late.

    "For better or for worse, (Capcom of) Japan has understood that 'the West' likes Frank. So maybe that's why he's called Frank West? I don't know... Rightly or wrongly (Capcom of) Japan is convinced that Joe Six pack here in America love God d*mn Frank West. He will be making appearances in as many games as they can get him into."

    Seth went on to (jokingly?) tease that Frank is sure to be in the next Puzzle Fighter, which caused dear Topher to immediately melt into a puddle of sweat and desire. Tune into the show tomorrow to hear for yourself. It's quite a treat, listening to the sound of a human being melting.

        I'm positive Frank will show up in some form for DR2.

        In one of the latest trailers, they show from behind what clearly looks like Isabela, so I'm positive Frank will have a cameo.

            I was Frank West for Halloween last year, complete with camera and 3 costume changes throughout the night. Any time someone didn't know who I was, I would get all uppity and tell them "I've covered wars, you know."

            I also carried around random food items, magazines (one was a Gameinformer that had the Dead Rising Review), toys, etc. It was a blast.

            And everything I used I already had, except a $1 cowboy hat. Best. Costume. Ever.

              As soon as I heard about Marvel vs. Capcom 3, I was rooting for Frank to get in there. He's a goofily dorky sort of character in the old-school Resident Evil vein, before the series traded in amusing writing for quality gameplay (a fair deal, to be sure, but it leaves me with no interest at all in seeing duds like Sheva or Chris Redfield as MvC 3 inclusions, despite Chris being an OG). Given his incredibly wide variety of weapons in DR, fitting him into the fighting game mold doesn't seem difficult.

                    Yeah, which I also took to be a good sign for his MvC inclusion. But him being in that game doesn't mean much to me, since it's a Wii exclusive.

                        Me personally? No, no Wii. Most everything worth playing on it is multiplayer, which makes having my own a tad unnecessary so long as my friends have one. Although we don't even use it for that very often anymore; Brawl lacked the lasting enticement of Melee (though we did play the heck out of it for a while), the newest Mario Kart was another disappointment for the series, and NSMB Wii was a lot of backstabbing good fun, but when it's over, you know, it's over.

                        Of course, even aside from that, I have to figure most people would be more stoked about MvC 3 than the Tatsunoko game, since Tatsunoko's characters aren't that big of a draw on this side of the Pacific. Even though getting MvC 2 on Live last year was a rude awakening as to how dated the fighter felt these days from a gameplay perspective.

                        And where is Frank in L4D 2? I played through the (non-DLC) campaigns and didn't find him.

                            Ah. Hadn't gotten that, heard it wasn't quite worth the money. And I'm guessing for Lost Planet 2 he'll be a multiplayer skin?

                              No More Heroes, MadWorld, FF: Crystal Bearers, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Klonoa... no, you're right. Just multiplayer games. :3
