fixed the thing (upgrading php beyond compatability with your current software = bad idea). we're now on vbulletin 3.8.5, so there's new stuff all over the place (most noticable change is social groups).
as always, it erased several emoticons and replaced them with ugly ones. I'll fix this tomorrow, as I always make sure I back them up. kinda burnt out right now.
and no, this shouldnt break like vbulletin 4 did, we were on this software version for a week before the vb4 upgrade, and it worked fine. but it'll break now because I said something god dammit kill me.
fun fact, if something would have gone wrong during the update, we would have been really screwed, since I accidentally backed up the wrong forum database. the backup I downloaded was for the vb4 test site I still have set up, in case that ever stops sucking (it hasnt). so this place? wasnt backed up at all!
