You're an EH.
This makes me excited. As much as I love the first game, specifically BECAUSE it was the first game, this one is much better. Better graphics, an actual good storyline (think FFT...go figure), and the same great gameplay you've come to know and love.

Point is the Ogre series kicked major ass and Quest pretty much defined Final Fantasy Tactics and directed the awesome Vagrant Story. Then Square merged with Enix thus absorbing Quest and pretty much destroyed the Ivalice canon. I probably would have liked FFXII more had Matsuno stayed on the team because he wouldn't have accepted the bull**** that was replacing Basch and Ashe with Vaan and Penelo or shaving of Basch's epic beard :shakesfist:
I forgot where I first read it but I can not agree more that the original FFT is Tactics Ogre with Final Fantasy class names. Then Square said "Less plot and politics, more moogles and cat girls, please." Ogre Battle 64, like FFT, is pretty thick with political intrigue and moral ambiguity revolving around war. Like the previous Ogre games you have six different endings based on how you handle events and stuff.Last edited by marcus; 03-29-2010, 03:39 PM.

Yeah, that was kinda my point.
To Kefka: The one you played was a port to the PS1 of the original SNES Ogre Battle.
To Valk: Both the SNES and the N64 Ogre Battle games are NOT the isometric, turn-based and grid-based tactical RPGs like every strat-rpg that followed FFT. These are real time, and battles are hands-off, aside from issuing basic tactics. Yeah, this might sound like the game "plays itself," but in reality, you are setting up large-scale tactics (again, played out in real time), and micromanaging the hell out of your troops (100 characters max). But the battles themselves rely on your skills at preparation (formation, equipment, alignment, character classes, etc).

Yeah...I've been playing the hell out of Demon's Souls for the last week, and I don't wanna get burned out. This is an opportune time to catch up on some Wii stuff I've been meaning to get to. Plus, I'll pick this up, and possibly pick up Majora's Mask, which I've been meaning to do for some time. Maybe even try that Monster Hunter demo.
Damn...I have too many games.
