    Thanks, Mr. DS Lite!

    As of today, I am officially incredibly concerned about my DS Lite and it's steadily deteriorating condition. There are multiple cracks along the hinges and twice today I've had a "permanent sleep mode" type thing going on. Basically, I've closed my DS and walked away a couple of times and two of the times I came back and opened it up, it wouldn't exit sleep mode. I was forced to quit both times and lose an upsetting amount of data in Pokemon Heart Gold. I'm thinking something's wrong internally that's causing the switch that determines if the DS is closed to start breaking.

    ...Has this ever happened to anyone else?

    No. Still using my DS Lite from three years ago and it has no cracks or glitches. Worst thing is that a bit of the paint has rubbed away from one of the edges.

        my friend steven's DS Lite is falling apart. shoulder buttons don't work unless you pound on them, and it just flops around when open.

        the DS Lite is kind of a piece of crap when it comes to build quality.

        LUCKILY I HAVE A DSi.

          I'm worried I won't be able to finish Heart Gold at this rate, or play any of my upcoming DS games, honestly. I'm gonna rage if my DS breaks before Monster Rancher.

                  Just kidding man, i still got that Pokemon for you too...Arceus is the one we were talking about right? Just gotta work something out for a particular time to get it traded. But i guess that is for a different topic, LOL.

                  Seriously man, good luck, i hope you do get the DSi XL, i'm still happy with my original DS, although some of the downloadable games for the DSi seem pretty cool, so i might finally break down and buy one (although i think i'll wait until any design bugs are worked out of the DSi XL before getting one though).

                      I've owned several DS Lites over the years and all of them have stood the test of time, but there was that old business of a very small percentage of them having cracked hinges. Maybe you lucked out and got a lemon.

                        Valk, i never ended up playing Shantae, but i remember alot of people saying that it was really good. I hope the new one is good too, as i will check it out when i get a DSi XL

                            My first Lite DIED on me. L button broke, Top Screen stop displaying, I tried fixing it but one day it just stopped working.
