Rodriguez specializes in campy B movies.

Predator is and always has been a campy B movie, just one with an interesting premise and a badass monster.

I don't see how hes ill suited. Before anyone says what a classic the original was- as if it were some serious tour de force of blended action and horror- take off the nostalgia goggles a 'mo.

Wellllll he made kids' movies that kids liked (I suppose!), so I don't know what other yardstick you can really use for success.
