If I had a job, I'd be getting it. Otherwise, $35 for 60 minutes...

Didn't this premiere on the JPN PSN?
Why not just wait for it to come out on the US version?

I'd get it on Friday if I weren't so damn broke from buying video games. Alas, it will have to wait.

        Don't copy that floppy!

I would watch this series if the last one I watched wasn't G Gundam. I figure everything since then must be some sort of plot development so I'd be lost at this point.
What's the point of having an emergency response system if you can't provoke the wrath of God?

G Gundam wasnt even part of this universe.

and if it is coming to the US PSN, it won't be until May.

Not all Gundam series are part of the same story. And for ones that are, just a general idea of major events would be helpful.

                Re: Gundam Unicorn

Ive seen people going nuts over how awesome it is so far in the first episode or something and Ive been meaning to check it out. Apparently its really, really good.

But who knows, it may be crappy and only considered good compared to all the newer gundam crap like Seed and Destiny. Yargh.

Ill judge it when I see it for myself~

I read the title as Unicron, like it was some Gundam/Transformers mix.

I know, but my point is that it's been a long time. I understand basic gundam rules:
                    1) EXPLOSIONS!
                    2) Mother-f'in-LASERS!
                    3) Sweet GIANT ROBOTS!
Of course there's always a lot more to Gundam than that, but what sort of Gundam would you have without those things?

If that's what you watch Gundam for, you probably don't like Gundam much at all, anyways.

That's not why I watch Gundam, it's just that I expect it and it makes the viewing experience more pleasant. Gundam doesn't seem to have too much continuity within the series (at least to me, an amateur Gundam viewer) other than those three things. I liked G Gundam because there was a little intrigue, the Gundams had some nice individuality and the main character wasn't a total wuss. But he did somehow catch bullets in the first episode and not kick absolutely ridiculous amounts of ass thereafter. There was a gundam series where some chick was piloting a GIGANTIC gundam that was basically a moving base, and some dude on the other side stopped her and himself from slipping into a giant crevice. I liked that because it was different, and the relationship between the dude and the chick was interesting. But both series had plenty of lasers, explosions, and giant robots. Which made them that much better to watch.

Some Gundam series fall within the Universal Century timeline, which makes them related since they build upon the same history. This includes the original series, Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Char's Counterattack, Victory Gundam, Gundam F91, Gundam Unicorn, Gundam 0080 and 0083 and 08th MS Team. The second series you mentioned was 08th MS Team.

The only Gundam series that are about giant robots, explosions, and just action in general are G, Wing, and Seed.

Most Gundam series focus on the characters and story. the mobile suits may look and act cool, but it's always firmly established that they're just tools. not the stars of the show. no different from tanks and fighter jets, in-universe.
