Re: Tron Legacy
They have groundbreaking Jeff Bridges in it. How much groundbreaking Jeff Bridges did they have in the first Tron?Originally posted by Denmo View PostI DUNNO MAN.
they can screw this up so easily.
And besides, the best part about the original Tron was the groundbreaking graphics. Where's the groundbreaking here? What's the point of having an emergency response system if you can't provoke the wrath of God?

A lot. He was the star.
I dunno, Tron's not really that great of a movie, so I suppose a sequel can't really tarnish the name of it. In all reality, there's a good chance it could actually end up being BETTER than the original, since the bar's set so low. Still doesn't make me excited for it, though.

I liked Tron, and I just hope that the movie is as awesome as the trailer makes it look. I don't want to be disappointed like I was with Meet the Spartans, or The Hulk. I liked The Incredible Hulk television series (let's forget about the 747 episode), but The Hulk was terrible. Let's hope Jeff Bridges can break some ground in the realm of Jeff Bridges. What's the point of having an emergency response system if you can't provoke the wrath of God?

Re: Tron Legacy
Tron was one of my favorite movies growing up. I can't count the hours I spent in my salad days reenacting scenes -- turning frisbees into identity discs and bikes into light cycles. It's not really a great film in retrospect, but I still love it and am pretty damn excited about this.Last edited by Vanilla Iced Tea; 03-11-2010, 11:13 AM.

Re: Tron Legacy
exactly the way I feel. so many awful movies were on repeat during my childhood and I know that if I saw them today, for the first time, I'd think they were garbage. like Army of Darkness, or anything starring Jackie Chan.Originally posted by Vanilla Iced Tea View PostTron was one of my favorite movies growing up. I disagree, my taste in movies has startlingly changed little since I was younger, and I would still think Army of Darkness is an awesome movie today.Originally posted by josh View Postexactly the way I feel. so many awful movies were on repeat during my childhood and I know that if I saw them today, for the first time, I'd think they were garbage. like Army of Darkness, or anything starring Jackie Chan.
The original Tron has it's merits, but it was never one of my favorites. I am looking forward to Tron Legacy, because it seems like one of the few movies that legitimately deserves to be in 3D, and I think the soundtrack will probably be awesome.
