    Yay! Got a PSP-Go.

I've been playing it like crazy. I transferred all of the PSOne games I downloaded on my PS3 and I really like having the old games portable.

90% of the time I spent with my PSP so far has been with Castlevania SOTN, in which I just finished both castles and beat the game. So far I really like this thing. I also downloaded Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles and Street Figher Alpha 3 Max. Castlevania DXC really bores me (I guess I don't relly like the classic Castlevania gameplay much) but SFA3 is fun.

Now I got to play catch up and get all the games I've been missing out on. I wish Xenogears and Parasite Eve would hit the PSN, but no such luck. Is there a way to copy the actual PSOne games onto the PSP? I have a bunch I would love to play on it.

      Re: Yay! Got a PSP-Go.

If you had a PSP-2000 or earlier with custom firmware there's some homebrew (maybe illegal) ways to do it but I don't think there's any way to do with with PSPgo.

Also, I got Castlevania Dracula X mainly to unlock SOTN which I haven't managed to do because the game is now lost somewhere in my room. At least I assume it's in my room, otherwise somebody stole it. But I highly doubt anybody would steal just that one game and leave everything else, lol.

I love my PSP Go so much that if it does go to **** itself, I'd want to watch.

To be fair, the PSP 1000-3000 can do what you're using it for as well. Probably for cheaper.

But new toys are always a joy to play with, however this mean you're our official go-to guy when something interesting comes out of it.

Funny thing is the people at my local Gamestop would tell people not to get it. So they think it can go **** itself, too. I'm also in that boat.

Well, it can't play UMD games, and there's still a ton of great games for the PSP that havent been put on the PSN store, so yeah, the Go is still generally a bad idea. I get the appeal of it, it's nice and compact. once fully equipped with a memory stick, it can have up to 32GB of storage. but the lacking PSN store ensures I will never own one.

I couldn't possibly disagree more. I'd rather have games over digital download than carry 10+ UMD's with me when traveling. Having my games on the console's hard drive is a ton more convenient. I can understand being angry if you own UMD's that you wouldn't be able to play, but I don't. Not only that, the PSP-Go is consistent with the download-only future of gaming (like it or not).

As far as the PSN store being lacking, I don't agree there either. I made a list of all the games I want to buy when I get the money:

                  PSP:
                  Armored Core 3 Portable
                  Armored Core Silent Line
                  Darkstalkers Chronicles
                  Dissidia
                  Gradius Collection
                  Gran Turismo
                  King of Fighters Collection
                  Little Big Planet
                  Me & My Katamari
                  Metal Slug Anthology
                  Mortal Kombat Unchained
                  Samurai Shodown Anthology
                  Sega Genesis Collection
                  Tomb Raider Legend

                  PSOne:
                  Grandia
                  Oddworld: Abe's Exodus
                  Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
                  Crash Bandicoot
                  Crash Bandicoot
                  Street Fighter Alpha
                  Tomb Raider
                  Tomb Raider 2

That's a good amount of games, easily enough to fill the hard drive and then some, so definitely no shortage. I'm sure the selection will improve as third party companies allow their games in that format. Considering the fact that the only reason I bought this thing was to play PSOne classics on the go, I'd say I got more than my moneys worth.

                    I own a PSP 2000.

I have a 16GB Memory stick in it.

I have 11 PS1 games, and 3 PSP games on the stick. and still about 8 GB free, to download more games from the PSN if I want to. and the option of playing games that arent on the PSN.

and I can play Megaman Powered Up.

Which was the title that showed us that it's likely not the third parties to blame for their games not being on the PSN, instead it's probably Sony. Capcom announced MMPU for a November 5th PSN release. they thought it was coming. They were sure of it. it didnt go up. it still isnt up.

the only thing a stock PSP Go can do that mine can't is bluetooth tethering.

yes, with portables, not having to carry games around is very nice. but it still can't play a huge chunk of the PSP library, which can only be seen as a bad thing. meanwhile the older PSPs can play everything, whether released as a UMD or on the PSN.

I'm glad the key games you wanted are all on the PSN. Hell, I'm glad you finally have a PSP.

Yeah, I don't really know why the PSP Go is considered a good device, considering it's stuck at 16 GB and can't play UMDs.

not stuck at 16. you can put a memory stick in it to increase storage up to 32 GB.

The thing is with a PSP-2/3000 and a large enough memory stick (the Pro Duos are cheaper than the Micros that go uses) you can still download everything that's on the PSN plus have the option to get games that haven't been put on there. The only thing the go offers that 3000 doesn't is the smaller size, bluetooth, and save states. It's not worth the increased cost and decreased screen size to me.
