    Think about it, when in the rhyme does it say that Humpty is an egg?

    It says in the very link you posted that the original Humpty Dumpty rhyme was a riddle, where his being an egg was purposefully left out so you would have to guess it.

          ring around the rosie is about The Plague.
          The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

            Nursery rhymes are known for being violent and disturbing in the original versions, as they were intended to scare young children into behaving.
