New Lufia Game: Belts & Zippers Edition

This is actually a remake/re-imagining of Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals. I'm a pretty big fan of that game, and I am in no way offended by this. Sure, it looks almost nothing like the original game, but it's not like that's going to be going anywhere. I can't ****ing wait to see how this turns out. It looks sexy as hell.

It looks like some kind of amazing action RPG... something along the lines of Brave Fencer Mushashi--or how the Wild Arms and original Lufia games would have been like if they had a real time-battle instead of being trapped in a traditional, turn-based battle system. I'm also digging the character re-designs. Maxim looked like some kind of old man before with that hairstyle of his, even though he always had the personality of a renegade teenager (because he was one). It's a little more "generic" now, but it's a lot more fitting of his character.

There's three factors that secured Lufia 2 as one of my favorite 16-bit RPGs

      1. Capsule monsters
      2. Devious puzzles
      3. It's actually difficult

If they keep those three things in mind this will probably be an instant purchase. Adding in another roguelike 99-floor randomly generated dungeon is straight up icing.

It hasn't been confirmed yet for the US.

If it comes out though, I'm definitely getting a DS again. Apparently they're using the same development team.

This looks like it could be fun. They tried to do some new things for the GBA Lufia, as well as CIMA (It kind of counts as a Lufia game), but ultimately neither of those games really panned out. A full reboot might actually be welcome here.
