    Tiny text

Remember how people were upset about the tiny text in dead rising?

Why is it suddenly okay for games to have tiny text. Not everybody has HD TVs, you know.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

TVs are cheaper now than a few years ago.

    Save up, go buy one.

A 19" HDTV is like $150. Cheaper if you get it online. Dead Rising was perfectly playable even using component cables. If you can afford two or three new video games a month plus internet service but you're still using composite/RF connections, it's time to invest in 21st century technology.

Not everyone has high speed internet but they're definitely the minority.

I'm using a cheap little 19 inch SDTV i bought 4 years ago. Never had a problem with tiny text, buy glasses~

        And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't

I dunno, I was watching my friend play Mass Effect, and even on their big ass TV I'm still leaning in to find out what the game says the X button is supposed to do.

I agree! I have to wear my glasses (or get off my couch and sit close to the TV) when playing any of my PS3 games on my 23" SDTV. Even then I have a hard time seeing it! These are glasses that I don't even have to wear when driving.

I bought a new TV after trying to play Dead Rising.

Sure, I shouldn't have had to do that. That wasn't a very smart move on the designer's part.

But now I have a cute little HDTV and I'm happy with it.

Doubles as a second monitor as well. So that's cool.

In most games, getting a HDTV doesn't help anyhow.

I dunno, why can't they have "small text" and "large text" interfaces, or better yet, allow you to map a button to blowing up whatever text is on the screen in real time? (Yes, guys, I mean enlarging, not exploding. )

I think it is pretty retarded to expect people to blow $100 - $500 more dollars just to be able to play a game.

Considering just how much you have to spend to be able to game in this generation, I don't think an HDTV as being another pre-requisite should really come as a shock.

I got an HDTV a week ago. It's great being able to read the text finally in some of the games I had trouble with before.
It sucks that game companies want us all to buy bigass 1080p HDTV's to fully enjoy their products. It makes you wonder...
