Yes, I used to watch that show. Very funny and strange stuff happened all the time. Good show. I'll have to check out the DVDs if I can find them.

The Crown of Order demo is here.

I used to watch this show all the time when I was between the ages of 11 and 14. But then they quit airing it in my area.

The Katt made Michael Jackson look normal, IMO.

Ok. I'll give you a general rundown then.

            The main characters:

Lister- For the Red Dwarf ship Lister was a Chicken Soup Vnding Machine repair man. As a punishment for illegally bringing a pet cat onboard the ship without it being quaranteened, he was thrown into a stasis field as a punishment. He was originally supposed to remain there for a short period, but all of his ship's crew ended up dead from a radiation leak. He wound up being stuck there for millions of years, when the living computer that piloted the ship decided let him out due to boredom. He is now the last remaining human in the universe. Lister is generally laid back, often seen as a slob.

Holly (Ship's computer)- This computer controls the ship, has a smart mouth, and when it released Lister, claims to have read anything and everything ever written at the time the ship left Earth. The computer is also a big douche(Not in the literal sense, but you get the idea).

Rimmer- Lister was provided with one of the ship's former crew in the form of a hologram picked by the computer. The computer chose Rimmer. Rimmer is an anal-retentive prick, unlike Lister, who prefers everything to be neat and orderly. He's sort of a cross between that stuck up preppy played by David Spade in PCU, Professor Farnsworth from the Simpsons, and Coach Buzzcut from Beavis and Butthead, but he's very, very much a wuss. Despite being a hologram that cannot die, he'll even cowar when Lister tries to hit him.

Kryten- This cowardly android was built to assist a ship that crashed on a planetoid. He was found and repaired by the Red Dwarf Ship. He generally acts as if he is constantly led around on a leash, although he is very knowledgable and often has bouts with the ship's egocentric computer.

Katt- This Michael Jackson wannabe was actually a well-evolved descendant of Lister's cat. Over millions of years, the cats on board the ship formed a civilization of their own, up to and including discovery of high technology. Most of them have died off, and this one remains. In order to understand this character, you cannot think of him in human terms, otherwise he comes off as stupid, shallow, and narcissistic. However, he is satisfied so long as his fancy suits aren't creased, he has adequate food, and either Rimmer, Kryten, or Holly are not nagging at him.

This show has such incidences as Lister's left over moldy sausage taking over the Earth, landing on a planet of wax sculptures engaging in a civil war(complete with Ghandi, Santa Clause, Abe Lincoln, and Mother Theresa), and having Rimmer in an escape pod crash landing on a planet for which he is stuck for 600 years and creates his own civilization(Due to a time rift, it is a short time for the ship's onboard crew).

You don't know what you're missing if you haven't watched this.
