The top 25 unanswered questions in science

    http://www.sciencemag.org/sciext/125th/

I thoroughly enjoyed some of these articles, especially Will Malthus Continue to Be Wrong? and How Far Can We Push Chemical Self-Assembly?.

I just glanced at the list. I seriously was expecting a joke for the last one, for some reason. Like...

"Did little Mikey from the Life cereal commercials really die from drinking Coke and eating Pop Rocks?"

I'm sorry, but I have to say this countdown list thing is really getting out of hand. Must we countdown EVERYTHING?

Yes. VH1 does it, MTV does it, Spike TV does it, ESPN does it, CMT does it, Food Network does it... you get the point. Now it's come over here.

Behold the power of the countdown list.... brains... er, list...

I can already answer the "Can we extend the human lifespan" question.

The answer is a very big YES. There is no reason why ANYONE should die before the age of 100. In America, though, good luck making it to 70.

That's attributed to all the countdown list shows on TV.

Being around sources of air and water pollution will contribute to an early death about as much as smoking or poor diet.

Being a nihilist would be more like, "We don't exist," or something.

Magus is just being... hmm. Defeatist? Pessimistic? I dunno.

Of course. This is why I visit my fiancée at her home out in the boonies as much as possible, and only drink spring water whenever I can. Of course, even water that we believe to be unpolluted can have hidden dangers. I still believe that flouridated water is a big health problem.

                              I almost always eat food that's microwave-ready.
                              I don't exercise nearly enough.
                              I eat too many sweets.
I drink a little bit too much soda.
I live in a heavily populated area with lots of traffic.

I'm definitely not going to live to see 100.
