Finished playing Resident Evil 4 Wii edition

Wow, what a wild ride! I'm very glad I bought this game. This is truely a classic! The settings, music, characters, and gameplay, everything is fantasic! Special prasie goes to the graphics; I have no idea how Capcom has achieved this level of visual quality on the Gamecube. It's simply amazing. Here I thought that Twilight Princess had the best visuals on the Gamecube, but this game might even surpass that title. Granted, each game had a differing visual style, so it might actually be unfair to compare the two.

Anyhow, what surprises me most about this game is just how much it has a next-gen feel to it. If this game was to be released on the Xbox 360 or PS3 with the visuals updated and have an actual pathway between areas without load times, I honestly don't think it'd feel dated. Seriously, RE4 was THAT ahead of its time. If anyone reading this owns a Wii (or to a lesser extent, PS2 or Gamecube) and has not played this game yet, I strongly recommed you do so. And for $20 brand new, how could you not want to own this classic? This game was definitely worth every penny I paid for it.

Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

RE4 made me hate QTE more than I usually do. I do agree that the design was close to perfect and the attention to detail was phenomenal. Basically it had all the little easter eggs and secrets that games in the mid-90s had but seem lacking in this era of BIGGER (and emptier) = BETTER. There wasn't a single level or area that wasn't interesting and it had some of the better set piece battles in an action game period.

With all that said I still would have prefered the game's original design (basically Code Veronica 2) and I wish RE5 didn't feel like a clone with poor level design.

I was gonna ask if I would enjoy RE5, seeing as how much I liked RE4, but this basically answers my question.

RE4 ushered in the current gen. Glad you FINALLY played a required classic.

It's also the only game besides Bayonetta I could stand QTEs in.

RE5 is like Transformers 2; bigger budget, better effects, none of the charm of the original. I will say the game is infinitely better with a friend playing as Sheva who normally snatches up all your ammo, stands in front of danger, gets in your way, and hordes weapons.

It's not like the game is super rare or expensive so try it out anyway.

If you've got a friend to play with I see no problem with picking up RE5, especially with a version of the game coming out with more content.

At least it will satiate any hunger you have left for the series.

Then you can go back and replay RE4. :3~~

I don't have a friend that owns RE5, but I wouldn't mind picking up the Gold edition. When's that one coming out?

Playing Resident Evil 4 right when it came out was a treat, because it's just like: INSTANT CLASSIC

I didn't hate RE5 but I also didn't like it at all. But I played it solo.
