    The Psychology of Pokemon

Have you ever noticed that the pacing, tone and story development of Pokemon changes after Ash is hit by lightning in the early episodes, how Ash and his world were relatively normal until after the incident?

    I have a theory.

A long read, but surely entertaining if you're a fan of Pokemon.

Holy crap man! Thats just horribly depressing.

Alto posted this years ago. It was still great then.

                Re: The Psychology of Pokemon

Didn't Ash get struck by lightning in the first episode? Maybe the second?

So how can you possibly say that the world changed after the event when it was hardly established what the parameters of the world were to begin with?

Further, the fact that its normal for a ten year old boy to go out on his own--nevermind the very existence of pokemon themselves--disproves the author's assumptions about how the "normal" world of pokemon should work.

tax the pokeballs. It will give incentive for trainers to capture less pokemon, thus increasing the supply of pokemon in the wild, leading to more pokemon for all...

That was a fantastic read. How cool would the series be if it started to set itself up for an ending like that?

It makes me wounder how many other conspiracy theories are out there relating to TV shows like this.
