HD tv issue, and Computer question

First, I got a new Sony Bravia XBR tv for Christmas, and I am getting a very, very slight delay when playing Call of Duty MW2. Any ideas on how to fix that?

And for the computer question, what is the best way to defrag a computer, and what are the best program to use to get rid of any spyware?

I think you'll just have to live with the delay on some games. That's why I bought Plasma over LCD.

As for defraging...just do it through windows. And spybot has never served me wrong.

Download Defraggler for the defragging. It's more thorough than the Windows application. Spybot S&D is still pretty much tops to this day, though.

Can't you calibrate games with your TV to remove the delay? That question is just based on what I saw a friend do when he had a delay for Rock Band, I'm no expert or anything.

If there's a Gaming mode on the TV, try it. If not... yeah, LCDs have a lag on the display sometimes. That's why the really fancy ones list what their delay is.

I don't know about Sony, but some TVs have a "Game Mode" in the options/settings that accelerates the display rate to eliminate the lag when displaying the rapidly changing images in games. LCDs just have a harder time with fast changing images compared to plasma.

            EDIT: Beaten to the punch.

I used game mode, but I didn't see any real difference. Oh well, it isn't that bad. Just got to get used to it.

I was always told not to use a plasma for gaming since the status bars that are always on screen have a good chance of burning into the screen.

Also, I recommend malwarebytes. It's always helped me ouOH NO GODZILLA!

What cables are you using to connect to your LCD?
If you're using composite cables then that might be the issue.

If you don't use component and up you're gonna
get a bit of delay in button input and screen input.

Hell, if your display supports S-Video and you have the connections
for it use that and the delay should be gone.

Won't happen on recent plasmas within the last few years unless you're really, really trying to burn in an image.
