    I have auto-renewal turned off for Xbox Live Gold. So of course, I just got an e-mail informing me that they just billed me 50 dollars for an auto-renewal.

    it is, of course, non-refundable according to Microsoft's page on the matter.

    I never had any intention of renewing gold. it's not worth it. I dont play the handful of 360 games that I consider worth owning online. I don't use any of the other gold features. Mind you, my 360 will barely even connect to live for the past year. Gold was sooooo not something I wanted more of.

    I just hate this ****ing console more and more each day. last week the controller decided the B button shouldnt work anymore, and microsoft refused to repair or replace it. now this stupid thing decides I need to pay for a service I don't want for another year, on a console that I don't like, and that I havent really played since july, and can't play now because I don't have a controller that ****ing works.

    This goes beyond hate.

    I'm going to spend my sunday on the phone, screaming.

    I had posted this before, but then deleted when I figured I should go check and really make sure I had auto-renewal turned off. I did, so I reposted it.

    I wish I could say that I won't ever give another dollar to Microsoft ever, ever again but I'd be lying. And I'm sure a few people would call my bluff around here, anyways . My 360 is starting to show its bad "side effects", already.

      Uh, just call up their customer service dude. Same thing happened to me, but I cancelled my auto renewl the day before it was about to start again. I still got billed, but since I called them the very next day they refunded my money and told me to have a nice day.

      She asked me why I wanted to cancel, and told me about other ways to pay for it to keep it going, but I just politely turned her down and went about my business with the call.

      Just take a chill pill, and make sure to call them up right away to get a refund otherwise they might not give it back if you've had it for a couple days.

        My not even a year old Xbox red ringged not to long ago and I'm pretty much not going to get another one, PS3 here I come.

              My first Elite red ringed in 8 months. I was selling a 360 to someone at work, explained to them about the RRoD, and how they really needed to get the product replacement plan we offered. I did a "knock on wood, I haven't had a problem with mine yet," and knocked on the counter. No joke, I turned it on later that evening when I came home, and it red ringed on me.




              For the past year, I think I've turned my 360 on maybe 10 or 15 times, and two of those were for Last.fm. Granted, that's still more than I've turned on my Wii, but still...

                Just go to the BBB and file a complaint. (www.bbb.org). You'd be surprised how fast they cave to you once a complaint is filed. It only takes five minutes.

                Not only that, but you can refute the charge with your bank. You'll often get your money back right away when they start investigating, and the company is charged $25 for the trouble. If the company wants to file a rebuttal to your claim, they will be charged $25 AGAIN, so it's not worth it, so you'll just get your money back.

                Last week I refuted the charge for pizza that I ordered. It was cold and nasty, and when we complained the store owner told us that he will not issue us a credit under any circumstances and was very rude. I called my bank when the transaction finalized (it has to finalize first) and refuted the charge and I got the $36 money back in my account in five minutes.

                Refute the charge with your bank and file a chargeback, and then hang them with a BBB complaint.

                  being blessed/awesome enough to have gotten a Playstation 3 for Christmas, I no longer feel the vicelike grip of Microsoft on my neck (wallet). what up, free online play? how are you, rechargable controller that actually came with the console? are you doing alright, best graphics everz? can we bffz 4evr? I hope so!

                    Valk, they make it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the XBox Live subscription without calling them to cancel it. So if you were able to cancel it from the console or their website, then they probably ignored it. You will have to call and rip them a new one. But atleast the person that i talked to was nice about it, i was just very firm in telling him that i did not want to renew.

                    If i ever decide to go back to XBL, i'll just buy a 3 month or year card or something.

                      it was a pain in the ass, and I had to call three times to finally get someone who would help, but they did finally cancel the subscription and refund the payment.

                      the first two acted like I was a horrible person for wanting them to correct their mistake, and insisted that no refund could be given.

                      third person was not at all surprised that it was auto-renewed without my permission, and quickly took care of the matter.

                        I've never really had a problem with microsoft so I can't really relate with you. I never even knew there was an auto renew thing.

                        Even If my xbox does red ring again, I have so much **** for 360. It wouldnt be worth it to get a ps3. Although the ps3s are cool as ****. I <3 my xbox to much.
