Static electricity broke my DS.

A shock left my finger and the screen went screwy. The top screen is white with lines and the bottom is black. The system still 'works', just the screens have been shorted out.

Is this possible to fix without replacing both screens?

sometimes they charge for repairs, sometimes they don't. it seemes like it's up to chance.

This one time I got shocked with static electricity in a movie theater, but the screen was ok.

It was shaped kinda like a DS.
